There are two(?) other games in the series that won't likely be getting a NA localization because it didn't sell well at all. On top of that the story was just bad and unfinished. Fights went on too long, didn't require much in the way of strategy and the difficulty was all over the map. It fell somewhere between boring and outright bad for me. How is legend of heroes, trails in the sky? Seems like I might be in the mood for something like that. The environments are beautiful and the gameplay is forgiving. The combat is light and very easily managed by a single player. I'm not even going to get started with that one. SR3 or 4, maybe, but again, any combat-focused game is never a good choice for a new gamer. A combat FPS is clearly a poor choice, and the Borderlands games can be monotonous on top of that. Never Alone is beautiful, but the controls are way too frustrating, especially later in the game. opening up console options makes this a far easier topic to discuss)Īssuming the GF in question is a non-gamer, I respectfully veto that entire list. (Disclaimer: We're in a Steam thread, so the following post is Steam-only. It's a bit off-topic, but can you recommend other games for this purpose (hopefully ones that are currently on sale)?
